DNA or RNA (retroviruses) is then isolated and used as template in one-step or two-step RNA (retroviruses) qPCR reactions, using appropriate positive and negative controls. The gene expression profile of inflammatory markers is performed in mRNA isolated from specific cell-population. The above cells have been selected and isolated using antibodies conjugated with magnetic beads or fluorescence activated cell sorting. The final report includes information about the presence of each strain identified, as well as a quantification parameter (Ct, or threshold cycle).
