What information does my clinician receive?

The final report provides information to your clinician on whether a specific strain of Borrelia, Babesia and Bartonella is present in your cells or serum, and a quantification parameter (its Ct value, or Threshold Cycle).

How does the PaldiSpot test work?

Your DNA is isolated from a blood sample provided to us. Your DNA is used in Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) testing, where we screen the sample for the presence of Borrelia, Babesia or Bartonella DNA. QPCR is an advanced laboratory technique that monitors the amplification of a specific DNA molecule.

What does the PaldiSpot test diagnose?

PaldiSpot analyses DNA extracted from your blood cells and serum to screen for 23 strains of Borrelia, Babesia and Bartonella genospecies.

Will I be notified when my results are ready?

Yes, we will email the PrediSpot genetic test report to you using the email address provided during the test ordering process. Our support team is on hand to help you with any questions you may have about your test results. Visit the Contact page for details.

How much does the PrediSpot genetic test cost?

You can order a PrediSpot genetic health test through your personal healthcare provider. For more details, please download our letter and take it along to your next appointment.

Where is Biocentaur based?

Biocentaur is a global company with a head office in the UK and world-leading laboratories in Europe.

How does Biocentaur test my DNA?

Genetic testing analyses small sections of your DNA. Using DNA extracted from your sample, we create what is known as polymerase chain reactions (PCR) or PCRs, which are copies of small segments of your DNA, to carry out molecular and genetic analyses. The tests are carried out in triplicates and the results enable us to determine your risk for developing a specific range of conditions.
