InVyomma Test

Gut Microbiome Analysis

InVyomma Pictogram

Overview

The InVyomma test provides a comprehensive analysis of your gut microbiome the community of microorganisms that live in your digestive tract and measures the levels of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), key indicators of gut health and metabolic balance.

The gut microbiome contains around 100 trillion micro-organisms, encoding more than three million genes that produce thousands of metabolites. These microbial functions influence digestion, immune regulation, metabolism, and even mood and cognition.

By analysing both the composition and metabolic activity of the gut microbiota, InVyomma delivers a detailed snapshot of intestinal health and its potential impact on systemic wellbeing.

Purpose of The Test

InVyomma helps to:

  • Identify imbalances (dysbiosis) in gut bacterial diversity and abundance
  • Assess levels of beneficial and potentially harmful bacterial species
  • Measure short-chain fatty acids that play key roles in energy metabolism, mucosal protection, and immune signalling
  • Support clinicians and individuals in developing personalised nutrition and lifestyle strategies for improved digestive and overall health

This test is particularly valuable for individuals experiencing:

  • Digestive disturbances, bloating, or food intolerance
  • Chronic inflammation, autoimmune conditions, or fatigue
  • Skin, metabolic, or mood-related symptoms potentially linked to gut imbalance

Scientific Background

The gut microbiome interacts intricately with the host’s immune system and metabolic pathways, helping to maintain physiological homeostasis. When this balance is disturbed — a condition often referred to as dysbiosis — the microbiota becomes less diverse and less stable. This may lead to the overgrowth of opportunistic or pathogenic bacteria, disruption of mucosal barriers, and altered cytokine signalling.

Such changes can reduce colonisation by probiotic species and promote inflammation, with downstream effects on digestion, immunity, and even neurological health.

InVyomma combines microbiome sequencing with biochemical analysis of short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) to provide an integrated view of gut ecosystem structure and function. Together, these metrics offer actionable insights for clinicians and patients aiming to restore gut balance and optimise wellbeing.

When to Consider the Test

Consider this test if you experience any of the following:

  • Persistent bloating, abdominal discomfort, or irregular bowel habits
  • Unexplained fatigue or brain fog
  • Autoimmune or inflammatory conditions
  • Difficulty losing weight or unexplained metabolic issues
  • Frequent antibiotic use or poor tolerance to certain foods
  • Skin issues such as eczema or acne linked to gut imbalance

Samples & Processing

Once the test is ordered, you will receive a sample collection kit in the mail or via a Biocentaur approved medical clinician which includes:

  • Four stool collection tubes; two for microbiome profiling and two for short-chain fatty acid analysis.
  • Step-by-step instructions for collecting a stool sample
  • Secure packaging to protect your sample in transit
  • A pre-labeled return envelope for sending it back to our laboratory

Once received, your sample is processed under strict internal quality controls.
Results are typically available within 2-3 weeks  from the date the sample arrives at our facility. All analyses are performed using validated molecular and biochemical techniques in Biocentaur’s certified laboratories, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and reproducibility.

Why Choose InVyomma Test

The InVyomma test was developed by the same team of scientists behind Biocentaur’s clinically validated cancer diagnostics, in collaboration with Dr. Gioula, Professor of Medical Biopathology–Microbiology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This partnership ensures the test meets the highest standards of scientific accuracy, clinical relevance, and reliability.

Our expertise in precision medicine, molecular biology, and genetic analysis ensures results you can trust, backed by rigorous science and delivered through technology that meets the same standards as clinical diagnostics.

As research continues to confirm the gut microbiome’s role in immunity, metabolism, and disease prevention, InVyomma offers a scientifically grounded, practical way to explore and improve your inner ecosystem.

Good to know: The InVyomma test can be ordered directly, you do not need a medical clinician's referral. However, if you would like guidance interpreting your results, contact us via our contact form and our clinical team can connect you with a Biocentaur approved medical clinician.
