PrimeSpot Test
Chronic Illness Diagnosis
AVAILABLE THROUGH BIOCENTAUR APPROVED CLINICIANS.
Pricing: £1000.00Overview
The PrimeSpot test is a highly sensitive DNA-based assay that detects and quantifies specific viruses and Lyme disease–associated bacterial species in your blood.
Our scientists use an advanced molecular biology technique called quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) to precisely measure viral or bacterial genetic material. This allows us to determine whether an infection is present, and to what extent it is active within your body.
The PrimeSpot test is developed and validated in Biocentaur’s world-class molecular laboratories, applying the same precision standards used in our cancer and genetic research programs.
When used alongside the PaldiSpot test, PrimeSpot provides critical information that can guide the development of personalised treatment for Lyme disease and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Purpose of The Test
PrimeSpot helps to:
- Detect the presence of latent or active viral infections
- Identify Lyme disease–associated bacterial species
- Quantify the viral or bacterial load (Ct value) in blood or serum samples
- Support clinicians in developing targeted, evidence-based treatment plans
This test is particularly valuable for individuals experiencing chronic fatigue, persistent inflammation, neurological symptoms, or unexplained immune dysfunction where infection may be a contributing factor.
Lyme Disease-associated species
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that can be transmitted to humans by a bite from an infected tick. It is usually easier to treat when it is diagnosed early. If left untreated, there is a risk that a person may develop severe or long-lasting symptoms.
People with Lyme disease react differently to the condition and the symptoms can vary in type and severity. Most people with early symptoms of Lyme disease will develop a flat, circular red rash around the bite, usually within four weeks of being bitten. Not everyone with Lyme disease will develop a rash. Some people experience flu-like symptoms including a high temperature, tiredness, headaches and muscle and/or joint pain.
A blood test is usually used to confirm Lyme disease but it can be difficult to diagnose.
Scientific Background
During the PrimeSpot process, white blood cells are isolated from a blood sample, and serum is collected. DNA or RNA (for retroviruses) is extracted and serves as the template for both one-step and two-step qPCR reactions. We also analyse mRNA expression profiles of key inflammatory markers within specific immune cell populations, which are selected and isolated using antibody-conjugated magnetic beads or fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). Each target strain is tested in triplicate, and both positive and negative controls are performed to ensure analytical accuracy.
This rigorous approach enables precise detection and quantification of the pathogen’s genetic material — a crucial step in identifying infections that may otherwise remain undiagnosed.
When to Consider the Test
The test is recommended when:
- There is clinical suspicion of Lyme disease or related co-infections
- You experience chronic fatigue, musculoskeletal pain, cognitive dysfunction, or immune irregularities
- You are under a healthcare provider’s care for infection-related, autoimmune, or chronic inflammatory conditions
PrimeSpot is not a general wellness screen. It is intended as a diagnostic and monitoring tool used in collaboration with a qualified healthcare professional.
Samples & Processing
Once the test is ordered, your Biocentaur approved clinician will be provided with a PrimeSpot collection kit, which includes:
- Detailed instructions
- Required tubes for blood sample*
- Pre-labeled return packaging for secure sample shipment
Once received, your sample is processed under strict internal quality controls.
Results are typically available within 14 business days from the date the sample arrives at our facility. All analyses are performed using validated molecular and biochemical techniques in Biocentaur’s certified laboratories, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and reproducibility.
Result Interpretation
Your report includes:
- Identification of specific viruses or bacterial strains detected
- Quantification values (Ct or threshold cycle) indicating viral/bacterial load
- A summary for clinical interpretation, enabling your healthcare provider to integrate findings into your care plan.
Why Choose PrimeSpot Test
PrimeSpot is developed by the same scientific team responsible for RGCC International’s clinically validated oncology diagnostics. Our expertise in molecular diagnostics, gene expression analysis, and clinical validation ensures reliable, reproducible, and meaningful results. We bring the same precision and scientific integrity that guides our cancer diagnostics to the investigation of infectious and immune-mediated diseases.
Good to know: The PrimeSpot test is available through Biocentaur approved medical clinicians only. If you do not currently have a clinician, contact us via our contact form and our clinical team will connect you with a Biocentaur-approved medical clinician.
