PaldiSpot test

The PaldiSpot Test detects the presence of Borrelia, Babesia and Bartonella genospecies in a patient’s DNA.

Working from our world-class facilities in Europe, our scientists use the latest sensitive molecular biology techniques (Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction – qPCR) to analyse DNA extracted from your patients’ blood to screen for the presence 23 of the most common strains of Borrelia, Babesia and Bartonella genospecies.

Used in combination with our PrimeSpot test, the PaldiSpot Test provides critical information that can inform the development of personalised treatments and therapies for Lyme Disease, improving patient outcomes.

The PaldiSpot Test is clinically validated and highly accurate. It is suitable for adults aged 18 and over. Results are processed and returned within 14 days.

Purpose of the test

PaldiSpot analyses DNA extracted from blood and serum to screen for 23 of the most common strains of Borrelia, Babesia and Bartonella.

The patient’s DNA is used in Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) testing. Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) is an advanced laboratory technique that monitors the amplification of a specific DNA molecule. During the PaldiSpot test, we examine each sample for the presence of 23 Borrelia, Babesia and Bartonella genospecies.

To ensure results are reliable, We perform all reactions in triplicate and conduct positive and negative controls for every strain.

The final report provides information on whether a specific strain is present in a patients cells or serum, and a quantification parameter (its Ct value, or Threshold Cycle).

Useful information

On ordering the test, you will receive a sample collection kit in the mail.

The box will include step-by-step instructions on the sample requirements (blood sample or swab) and details on how to return the sample to us. We have strict internal controls to ensure that all samples are protected throughout the process.

Results are processed and returned within 14 days.

Support and training

At Biocentaur, we provide ongoing training and support for clinicians on how to conduct tests and interpret the results for patients. If you would like more information on the PaldiSpot Test or any of the Biocentaur range of advanced genetic tests, then contact us today.
